Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon · Double Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and Surgery
Dr. Mark Yazid is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon whose expertise in microsurgery, peripheral nerve reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery of the breast and body translates directly into precise, natural-looking gender-affirming results. Double board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery, he approaches every patient with the belief that surgical excellence and genuinely affirming care belong together.
Dr. Yazid earned bachelor's degrees in cellular and molecular biology and environmental science from Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors, and completed a year of research at Johns Hopkins Medical Center before earning his medical degree at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, then advanced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital, where he mastered complex tissue reconstruction and microsurgical free tissue transfers alongside refined cosmetic techniques. He further subspecialized with a fellowship in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, honing the microvascular and peripheral nerve skills that underlie today's most advanced gender-affirming procedures, from chest and body contouring to complex reconstruction.
Dr. Yazid's longstanding work in medical ethics, professionalism, and bioethics, from hospital committees to national leadership, reflects the respect and patient-centered focus he brings to every consultation. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national meetings, and was named to Monmouth Magazine's Top Doctors in 2025. Outside the operating room, he enjoys scuba diving, biking, hiking, rock climbing, and cooking, and speaks fluent French.
